This product is totally handmade, in an exclusive and unique way, with a final hand spatulation process on the raw surface. This collection has its strength in the dark ceramic paste, obtained with the use of iron clays, lapillo vulcanico together with other inert stones. The firing temperature at 1.100 c° (same as porcelain), for about 30 hours, contributues to its excellent strength, high mechanic resistance and in addition a low water absorbing coefficient. The glazed product has an uneven structure with a mm. 15 width, sometimes showing small craters representing the intrinsic peculiarities of the exceptional handmade product that is Gres Vulcano. A huge number of shapes, engraved decorations (Merletti), handmade coloured, the glazing finish that can be either glossy or opaque, allow the use of Gres Vulcano in all architectural contexts.
